Essentially when a deposit is collected, MDM Projects will notify our UK based insurer provider of this and intern we will provide you, the homeowner with deposit protection insurance, which puts you the customer back in the same financial position as if you were, should us the installing contractor cease to trade before the installation is started/completed.
An insurance backed guarantee provides valuable consumer protection for homeowners and increases customers confidence that us, the installer is reliable and trustworthy.
Although a workmanship guarantee sets out us, the installing contractors obligation to rectify defects in the installation carried out, unfortunately this does not guarantee that we will always be around.
The purpose of an insurance backed guarantee is to honour the terms of us, the installing contractor's own guarantee, where unfortunately us, the installing contractor has ceased to trade and is therefore unable to satisfy remedial claims made against our workmanship guarantee.
Should a homeowner, our client, find themselves in this unfortunate situation, they can claim against the Qualitymark Protection insurance backed guarantee issued, should there be a defect with the workmanship and us, the installing contractor has ceased to trade.
The insurance cover that we provide is underwritten by a UK based insurer, with clear and simple insurance policy wording. Policyholders may also benefit from free access to fair and impartial dispute resolution from the Financial Ombudsman Service.
